The Our Faith, Our Finances, Our Freedom event is a collaboration between the Black Wealth Summit (BWS) and City of Praise Family Ministries (COPFM) aimed at celebrating Juneteenth and empowering the black community through discussions on personal finance, credit, relationships and money, and entrepreneurship.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an annual holiday in the United States commemorating the end of slavery. It is celebrated on June 19th and marks the day in 1865 when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas and announced that all slaves in Texas were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth has been celebrated by African Americans since the late 1800s, but it wasn't until recently that it gained widespread recognition as a holiday. In 2021, it became a federal holiday in the United States, after Congress passed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act.

This one (1) day pre-Summit event will be held on June 19, 2023at the expansive campus facilities of City of Praise Family Ministries. The campus affords BWS the ability to expand our reach up to 10,000 attendees and the opportunity to patronize the black-owned Doubletree and Homewood Suites boutique concept hotels for our receptions and organizational meetings located within a few miles. Although they are branded as Doubletree and Homewood Suites the design, location and amenities are tailored to attract executive level guests as well.

The Juneteenth event will feature panel discussions designed to provide attendees with insights and strategies on personal wealth, managing credit, and creating wealth through entrepreneurship. Attendees will learn how to navigate personal finance and credit challenges, and how to build and maintain healthy financial relationships.

The Faith and Wealth Summit will also feature Black Wealth Summit Founder, Cedric Nash as he shares insights on igniting your wealth journey as well as sharing tools and templates from his book. Additionally, sponsor booths will provide attendees with access to resources and information to support their financial goals and aspirations.

Overall, the Our Faith, Our Finances, Our Freedom event is a unique opportunity for BWS, COPFM, the black community and advocates to collectively address bridging the racial wealth gap, gain valuable insights and strategies to achieve financial success and freedom.
